GPOYW - “Greetings from Berlin, I’ve censored those udders with beer” Edition
Hello from Berlin and Sankt Oberholz!
After a fantastic coffee with Sabine and her little one (adorable) Brandon and I attempted to get into a posh Asian tapas restaurant (Sabine! The wait was hours :-/) and from there headed to a CCCP bar with no avail (they open at 20:00) so here we wait … and drink.
I’m pretty sure Sankt Oberholz is a Berlin version of the ACE.
So far this conference has been INSANITY … I won’t get into many of the details, but its safe to say you’ll see me and my friends visiting the South Pacific, the South of France and South Africa (weird coincidences) over the coming months.
How’s your day? What did I miss in the states?

I’ll just leave this here.

Someone pointed this photo out to me the other day, and proceeded to laugh at my reaction as if I had never seen it before. It wasn’t new to me, but rather that it felt like another world.
Over a year ago today (13 months exactly) I was in Prague at a bar that let the Czech locals “act like Americans”. They drank whiskey and played AC/DC. When I came in with two girls from our hostel - the regulars proceeded to lose their minds. The girls drank whiskey straight and giggled when I grimaced after a shot.
They were from Texas and drank the patrons - and me - under the table.
While in Europe I tried to avoid the “douchey American” stereotype - but this night was special, because at this bar, in this town, nothing could’ve been cooler.
So yea.
