10 years ago my use of pre-writing and outlining strictly revolved around my need to pacify my instructors. Now 10 years later I look forward to pre-writing and research more than any other aspect of writitng. Granted a ton has changed - mostly the accessability to information and the ease of research. Still, if you wouldve told me 10 years ago that I’d relish research almost more than story telling I’d have laughed till I pissed.
