NEW HOLLYWOOD BAR & RESTAURANT NEARLY OPEN
“Talk about a special delivery. Grace Fernandez, Loyal Pennings and John Terzian have given birth to what is sure to be a hot hang this summer. Tucked away discreetly on Orange Street above Hollywood Boulevard (at 1738 N. Orange), the Stork (pictured) will bring postindustrial chic and sophistication to Hollywood. ‘All the windows were sourced from New York,’ says Terzian, who tapped longtime friend DJ AM (who is also a minority partner) to be the bi-level bar’s musical director. Exposed brick and concrete are everywhere throughout the 8,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor lounge, but the Stork still exudes warmth, with cozy furniture and multiple areas to explore. Fernandez, who once helped run Hyde, promises a tight door, and the menu is being overseen by Steven Arroyo of Cobras & Matadors. The restaurant portion soft-opened this week (Update: the Stork has not opened to the public quite yet; expect an opening ‘soon,’ per reps); expect the bar action to heat up later this month as well.
