Taking time to know how blessed you are - in your own unique way, in each and every place in your life, is essential to growth.
I know I’ve been happy(ier) of late, and that I maybe waxing euphoric, but sobeit.
I’m tired of apologizing for being a “half full” persona, and finding the best in even the worst situation. I’m finding out more and more each day that it’s these attributes that contribute more to my success (generally speaking) than my knowledge or know how.
My little brother turned 21 yesterday and left me this heartbreakingly perfect voicemail. I didn’t answer his call (for a valid reason - I was in a writing lab) but when I finally heard it … it gave me incredible peace. He’s in a similar place as well.
He’s realizing the same attributes that others might find dumb or naive, are actually his most heartfelt and desirable traits to many (smart, bright, encouraging) people around him.
He’s 21 and making these breakthroughs. Incredible. Growing up we didn’t have much other than each other, and for many reasons we should be detached and numb, but we aren’t. The lives we live today are truly more than blessed.
My hope is simple.
When you read this - take a moment - just one second - and think of just one way that you’re blessed.
