i just watched my local news for the first time in ten years. it was something to do with it being the only new thing on television.
who are they kidding with this shit? why would i care what celebrity is on drugs this week? what if i don’t like sports? why would i want to watch ten minutes of the weather when i could look it up online? what’s with the graphics and presentation that haven’t been updated since the nineties? who watches this stuff? is the average american gossip-craving, sports-loving, computer-less, and style-starved?

yes, the average American is a confused information consumer that doesn’t know what to get where for the most part, and consumes what they can when they can. after spending a week of my trip home to Tampa, Florida (a top 10 media market mind you) on the couch sick I started to laugh at the local tv less and less and started feeling worse and worser.
