things are moving a lot quicker than I’d imagined - however, it’s never really as fast as i’d like it.
i’m moving to los angeles (Nov. 1) and think i will (inside the next 2 years) split time between LA and another major metropolitan area (think: Chicago/NY/London) it just depends on my creative exploits/capital/ and technology advancements RE: telecommuting etc.
I’m visting FL in two weeks - should be a decent trip, but might be the last trip until Christmas, which should be brief. I’m most likely going to be overseas during New Years, or maybe in NY. That’s always been a dream.
RE: Looking at moving - bigger cities etc. I’m just not afraid anymore. I guess big cities used to scare me to a certain extent (Chicago was an exception thanks to Matt and Gary) but in all seriousness, I’m not sure what’s changed, but I guess I’m just older and wanting different things from my life. High five.
RE: work exploits - next steps. I know this much. I’m not going to be in the real estate game in terms of a transactional sense - no more chasing commissions and grinding the closing costs. It’s been good to me and taught me a great deal, but it’s not the end all be all - even though my firm is growing tremendously, it’s not helping me wake up and get out of bed.
Creatively I’m growing a great deal and getting to formulate and create some ideas and projects that up to this point have only been dreams. Currently I’m working on a handful of direct response vehicles for companies (creative content and shows around their product/lifestyle/brand). The mediums we’re working in are tv, radio, and interactive. Exciting stuff that transcends normal viewing standards and buying trends.
Sidenote:
I’m also going to enroll in classes at UCB when I move to LA and hope to shoot a small project with Evan and some friends in January. Should be a great time.
End sidenote:
I’m currently working on a few technology driven products, one that’s going to be strictly based in Facebook. Another is a simple CMS solution for websites along with a bouquet of web dev services. Finally there’s a product that has a huge SMS tie in that we’re developing - our target date for proof of concept is January.
Personally, I’m single and missing my family. I’m in love with the movie “Across the Universe” however. I’d date Ms. Wood if she dumped Marilyn Manson. Fo sho!
I’m going to see these concerts this week: Meiko, MuteMath, and GirlTalk in LA. Also this Saturday I’m helping out with the Neighborhood Music Festival - it’s going to be a great show www.neighborhoodmusicfest.com
Deep breath.
I joined a gym and have had a blast there so far. My buddies go there so it helps a ton! I’ve been taking nutritional supplements, nothing crazy - vitamins etc. So far, so good focusing on protein, fresh fruit, and vegetables.
Also - I’m getting a new digital camera - my brother broke mine :-), suggestions? I’m also getting a mac when the new os comes out.
Wow - that’s a lot. Talk soon?
I hope.
