This reminds me a similar strategy Ross Perot used to siphon votes from Bush ‘41 in 1992.  Very effective.

Poolside at The Standard Sunset
What a picture. 10 girls laying out in the sun. Meetings taking place about nothing in particular, just meeting to meet. Not a cloud in the sky. Fauxhawks. Beards. Laptops. Boots. Everything trendy. All at once.

More Than Blessed
Taking time to know how blessed you are - in your own unique way, in each and every place in your life, is essential to growth. I know I’ve been happy(ier) of late, and that I maybe waxing euphoric, but sobeit. I’m tired of apologizing for being a “half full” persona, and finding the best in even the worst situation.  I’m finding out more and more each day that...

Peacock Tail - My New Theme →
I just republished my site in the “Peacock Tail” theme by Richard Dunlop-Walters. Very neat effect thus far - also, you can see who I follow! Thanks Richard - hope my musings bring it to life.  His thoughts below:  nostrich: A theme for Tumblr I just finished. All the details are there, so check it out.

Yacht Rock #11 →
OMG - I thought this series was DEAD?!? I’m going next month for sure.  Maybe I’ll even bust something out from the vault to screen.  Maybe not. Thommy’s comments below:  thommy: Holy crap! This special episode of Yacht Rock had it’s west coast premiere at Channel 101’s January 2008 Screening. Jimmy Buffet and the story of “Footloose.” If you...

Quarterlife is making the jump to network TV? GODDAMN WRITERS’ STRIKE!!  — dalasverdugo dalas et al, expect 3 more series to make that same jump in the next 90 days if this isn’t resolved.  folks like SONY are betting on it and ordering (hundreds of) “webisodes” and other various forms of online content with hopes they can bridge the gap and get sydicated on network...

Sometimes ...
I’ll be washing my hands in an airport bathroom as someone emerges from the stall to wash their hands as well. As people walk in I turn to him and matter of factly say “hey by the way - that was some awesome sex” and offer a high five. I write and act comedy - don’t steal my stuff without asking.

Do You Want Sparkling, Still or Tap Water?
Tap. Thanks. Seriously!?! Tap water is in every drink that has ice cubes. Don’t be a hater unless you have purified ice too! Thank Goodness for this wine.

Just a thought ...
It shouldn’t be any less manly to drink a glass of white wine - as long as it is paired accordingly.

On Learning to Ignore People
Sometimes it isn’t important to respond to every bit of communication that comes your way. It isn’t rude or selfish or poor taste. It should be almost as fundamental as breathing. Know your priorities and you’ll be fine.

Thoughts on Flying Virgin America
Sleek design with all of the usual Virgin trappings abound. Pilots that wear leather jackets. Flight attendants with modern haircuts. Unique lighting in the entrance and cabins. A really neat inflight video describing safety emergency procedures that was animated etc. We were delayed today for 45 mins on the runway. In an effort to kill time I tried their “red” inflight entertainment...

New Issue of Script (magazine) Came in the Mail
While this might be my favorite magazine and it might have my favorite TV writer of all time (Aaron Sorkin) featured, all I wanted to do was read the liner notes on the strike - in long form, from various writers perspectives. In reading this I noticed the same human perspective we seem to see in local press regarding the strike - but not so much in national pubs … trades even. It featured...

CHTV’s latest sketch.  The writing is SO tight and actually takes some pretty nice risks, then pays them off. For the record: Time machines and daydreams/internal monologues are my two favorite sketch tangents.  Sam Reich’s thoughts below:  julia allison, ladies and gentlemen. — samreich

It Still Makes Me Giggle
The fact that folks in LA are SO bad with the rain it just plain amusing to me.  It’s not like they don’t shower or are afraid of water on their terms - it’s just when mother nature decides to get involved.

Today...
It’s been a very long weekend and a very long day to boot. I have a conference call tomorrow morning and it requires me working at 6 am to be prepared. Let me be short: I had an amazing weekend. I wrote probably the first fully developed character of my life and it was SOLID.  (B grade) The sketch didn’t suck.  (C grade) Goodnight.

Frangry has a new project called MyFreaks - it’s hilarious … really.  In a nutshell she posts the creepy messages she gets from guys on myspace.  My favorite part of the guy below is the whole sunflower line.  Why?  Because it works.  I get more tail by comparing my flaws, to sunflowers, to strangers online, then on the whole with my roofie-colada spritzers.
